Reads the 2D bar code and magnetic stripe information on a government issued drivers license and CAC (Common Access Cards), decodes the information and transmits the data via RS232 to a VMS Visitor Management Workstation. Reads two dimensional bar code (PDF417), Linear bar codes (Code 3 of 9, Code 128), and triple-track magnetic stripe. Communications to RS232-C serial port, RJ45 10- pin connector. Serial connector can receive power from host device if available, otherwise the power requirement is 5v DC, 36mA, idle; 400mA, peak. For VMS only.
